Puerto Rico, The Island of Enchantment

Today I am so excited to talk about one of the most beautiful places in the world, not only because it is the country where I was born and raised, but because it is one of the places known worldwide for its beauty.

Puerto Rico Facts

Puerto Rico is the territory of the United States. To travel to Puerto Rico from the United States, you do not need a passport because it is considered a domestic trip. This is a very important factor when deciding where to celebrate your destination wedding since perhaps some of your guests do not have or simply do not qualify to have it. Puerto Rico is located in the Caribbean. Out of the four largest Antilles, Puerto Rico is the smallest island, measuring approximately 100 x 35 miles. Puerto Rico consists of the big island and five smaller islands called Culebra, Vieques, Caja de Muerto, Desecheo and Mona with only 2 of them inhabited.

Something beautiful and particular about my island is that the coast is around the entire island and the mountains are in the center which we call La Cordillera Central. In the north we have the Atlantic Ocean and in the south is the Caribbean Sea. The capital is San Juan, located in the north of the island and where most of the tourism is concentrated. Puerto Rico is made up of 78 municipalities. Ponce is one of the most visited municipalities, located in the south of the island which we call the second capital. This has a very typical Spanish architecture. We have one of the municipalities most visited by surfers in the west and it was the host of the International Surfing Championships in 1968. We have the municipality of Arecibo in the north of the island, where the famousis located, Observatorythis radio telescope which is the only facility of the National Astronomy and Ionosphere Center (NAIC). He has appeared in movies and television series. One of the most wonderful places on my island are the islands of Vieques and Culebras to the east. I remember these as a unique experience and I recommend that you visit them when you go to Puerto Rico, specifically the bioluminescent Mosquito Bay and in Culebra the Flamenco beach. To get to them you can take a ferry from the municipality of Ceiba or also by plane from San Juan or Ceiba.

Actually there is much more to say about the beauties of my country, I promise I will talk more in the future, but I want you to know that we are the home of the only Rainforest of the United States National Forest Service EL YUNQUE. El Yunque is located in the municipality of Río Grande around 45 minutes from San Juan.
